"Sounds from P Block" might sound like a bad ITV music-based sitcom set in a prison, but it's actually a bold new attempt from up-and-coming local band Jonestown.

When you talk about an EP, you can talk about what it is, and what it isn't. What it is is a brave new attempt at cornering quite an elusive sound. What it isn't is quite finished. There's a little bit of flair on the lyrical side, but it's a small factor compared to the music. The music itself is solid and well-structured, and with a little bit more polish they could be the bright young contenders they aspire to be.

I'm Tom Himself, and I approve of Jonestown.
