..... & I'm a bit of a clueless numpty when it comes to guitar/bass electrics!

Looking to buy two of these:-

To stick in this bass:-

The EMG's are the same size as the current p'ups.

Each EMG comes with two pots (volume & tone), pre-amp & battery connector. I'm told that both EMG's will work off of 1 battery. Also been told that they must be wired to the packaged pots & pre-amp. That would be 4 pots then, on a bass that currently has 3 + two roller volume controls.....

Could someone tell me if this is doable, & if so, could they do it & how much would it cost me?!?

Ta.

given enough time and money anything is possible, as for it being practical is another matter

first obvious problem that you have is the 4 pots != 3 pots + 2 rollers, so something has to give, it may be possible that the emg volume pots are of the same specs as the rollers and therefore you break the 'must use emg pots' rule and wire into your rollers but this should only be an option if the specs are matched (or matching spec rollers can be sourced), second option would be to do some woodwork on your body and make space for the 4th pot, replace the other 3 and make your rollers redundant

there may be other options but personally as it's not a swap in/out or active retrofit type situation I'd be more inclined to trade the bass to get what you want - think that would work out to be a better and cheaper solution

This reminds me of the old stpory about asking a Irishman for directions and he starts by saying "Well I wouldn't start from here..." ; )

I think it's a step too far to try and incorporate the rotary controls - unless by some bizarre coincidence the pot they work is the same value as one of the EMG pots - which is your existing electrics are active might not be completely out of the question now I think about it.

I think step 1 is do some internet digging (or just ask EMG) what the value and taper of their pots is - then either see if it's the same as your existing roller controls, or if not, see if you can source a suitable dual-stacked pot so that you get 2 controls on one physical pot so that you don't have to route and drill for a fourth control alongside your existing 3. That's my 2p anyway.
