Bloody hell - I wasn't expecting what I got. I watched the first 2 acts on Saturday night - first up was Matt - who looked really self-conscious and uncomfortable in a vest and surrounded by hot dancers. He proceeded the grab his allocated Beatles tune by the throat and wrestle any musicality out of it by brute force. good job he'd ditched his sweater 'cos it looked like quite an effort.
Anyway next on was Cher who sang Imagine in such a way as to render it devoid of any emotional content. Whilst sat half way up a staircase.
So far so, so-so, but what genuinely had be agog was the way in which they judges then seemed to be implying that these people were genuine, one-of-a-kind superstars. I know it's cool to offer up faux shock at reality telly but seriously, it had me shouting at the telly (I now have an insight in to all the Facebook shouting I suppose lol ) - are we meant to think that the judges mean that stuff? Or actually, do they?
I turned over.
