Nice work Haze, the "Neu 1" and "Neu 75" are both cracking albums, "Neu 2" is patchy but does have some great tunes.

I've just bought Neu 1, need to look into getting the others. Fantastic album and great to finally hear it at something better than Youtube quality!

Also got a boxset of three King Tubby albums and a Disclosure 7" (Burial-esque Dubstep duo on Moshi Moshi)

Listening to Rival Schools & Hundred Reasons.... Good mind.

Hundred Reasons' first album has some real belters on it. The obvious ones aside, I always liked Falter.

What I think was the follow up (Shatterproof is not a challenge?) is what I had on. Pretty good also, but I never heard anything after it.

The singer in my old band was mates with a couple of them when we lived in Farnborough, everyone used to frequent a pub called The Tumbledown Dick! As I recall they initially got loads of hype after supporting that awful nu-metal band 'Kittie' in London.

Nice. Yeah, the hype around them was pretty crazy - shame they never delivered a killer album. I remember seeing them at Cardiff uni (supported by Biffy Clyro, no less) and afterwards getting their guitarist Larry to burn a hole in my mate's newly-bought Hundred Reasons t-shirt with his cigarette. She didn't have a pen.

I got that second album for DJ'ing purposes @ The Furnace but it went down like a lead balloon. I sold it on Ebay last year for about 50p - and that was after about 6 attempts to shift it on there...

Brilliant! I completely agree about the lack of a killer album, and whilst they were never as exciting as the bands that influenced them I always thought that 'I'll Find You' was a killer tune.

Gang of Four - Content

First album of new material in 16 years, I was a bit sceptical about this once Hugo Burnham and Dave Allen had quit the reunion, for me Gang of Four were always about the albums and singles they made between 1979-1982 with that original line up ("Entertainment" and "Solid Gold" and the killer "To Hell With Poverty" single)

However, having heard a couple of tracks in advance (You'll Never Pay For The Farm, Who Am I?) I was a bit more encouraged at the prospect of this album. It's sounding pretty darn good on first listen, Jon King is still pissed off with the world, Andy Gill is still an incredible guitarist plus the new(ish) rhythm section of Thomas McNiece (bass) and Mark Heaney (drums) work well.

Reunion albums (or to be blunt, partial reunion albums) can go one of two ways, for every Mission Of Burma (who have made music since reforming 10 years ago as good as anything they recorded in their original incarnation) there have been numerous Stooges (who remain one of the greatest bands ever and have remained a fantastic live band with both the Ron Asheton and now James Williamson era reunions but made a very average "comeback" album in 2007 with "The Weirdness".

The jury is still out on this but so far.. so good.

I don't care what anyone says....that's Paul Stanley singing the pre-chorus on 1976!
