If it's the one I got to play a bit on Sunday it's a great guitar!

Only difference is I have since put a black 3-ply scratchplate on her, still have the pearloid one. Plus selling with Fender hardcase.

It truly is a beauty, if I had spare cash and was looking for a Tele....

Rock and Roll Music, Kempsters and Holmes are all pretty near to each other so spend a few hours wandering around. Personally, I'd also have a trip to Bristol to the new PMT shop there which is HUGE, and if you can head down to London go to Denmark Street and sound control underneath Zavvi on Oxford Street. Always check prices online before buying but it's worth spending a few extra quid in a shop often because you can try the actual guitar, and a decent set up makes all the difference.

Look out for the Squire Classic Vibe series, they're lovely and very reasonable.

bugger! Has it gone completely or has it been taken over by a different music store?

Bridge on a jag is the worst thing ever. Strings slip and break all the time, I had to sell my jazzmaster as the bridge made it unplayable! No worries about my tele, just sharing my experience. It's the sort of thing that you don't find out in the shop as you don't play hard enough.

Isn't the solution to the Jag's bridge to use fat strings on them, 12/13's, that kind of thing?
