Thought it would be good for anyone interested if we kept a little thread open for the season.
So, Australia it is and Hamilton is on fire in qualifying with the Ferrari's fucking up badly. Raikkonen in 16th.

Pole - Hamilton - Maclaren Mercedes
2nd - Kubica - BMW
3rd - Kovalainen - Maclaren Mercedes
4th - Massa - Ferrari

16th - Raikkonen - Ferrari

Should be a good race tomorrow

Also good news in that Alonso is 12th!!!

I think that Kubica will be on to watch for this year. I've been watching his progress with interest as a future star and his 2nd place proves it.

Still not sure on Button - I know the car isn't up to scratch but he's still behind Barrichello who must suffer from the same issues. To be honest, I see Button as someone who enjoys the playboy lifestyle more than the racing. Or am I being a bit harsh? Discuss...

Better set the alarm for tomorrow morning!

That boy Hamilton might be a tax-dodging little get but he sure can drive.

Please dont post the results on here yet as I am going to watch the replay of the Grand Prix this afternoon.

Ithink you are right about button. I actually worked for Williams when Button had the legal issues going on and he was an arsehole because he was so arrogant, but isnt it funny now lewis hamitoln has come on the scene how button has changed completely, its like all the pressure is off him.

Okay, shall we do it now. Surely everyone has seen the race:-

Plenty of incident, safety car 3 times I think.....

1st - Hamilton
2nd - Heidfeld (I think)
3rd - Rosberg

Good race really with lots to discuss. Hamilton was awesome, not because he is English, but because he coped well under pressure for the whole race.

Apologies to Formula One fans but I can only view it as a precursor to a sunday afternoon kip. I had a marvellous post-sunday roast nap yesterday within five minutes of turning the race on. : )

I feel much the same about football. Each to their own.

Not a good session for McLaren, but ferrari looked like they have the pace.

Will be interesting to see what happens in the race itself and fuel loads........

Massa - Pole
Raikkonen - 2nd (I think)

Hamilton 4th

What a waste of time that turned out to be

I got up stupidly early on a sunday for nothing! Bring on the football

Yes, this was not a particularly good race for McLaren or Hamilton.

Being dropped 5 places for the qualifying debacle was not good either. As far as I could see there were at least 8 cars going slowly on the racing line (Including Ferrari) - strange how ferrari always seem to get away with everything.

Anyway, also the first pit stop for Lewis was horrendous. They could not get the front right wheel off and it cost him 16 seconds and the chance to get the jump on Mark Webber.

Considering the way the race went, 5th place is not a bad result for Hamilton.
