I'd rather see Drogba lifting it than Wenger. Chelsea seem to be the better team this year but Man Utd somehow seem to be keeping up. I reckon it'll go right to the wire but your money has got to be on Chelsea

It is of upmost importance that satan (ferguson) does not get Four-in-a-row. Chelsea are your saviours and easily the best assembly of players in the league, even though judging by the mid-week result they don't seem intent on proving this.

I agree it'll go all the way to the wire. A little boost of confidence midweek when arsenal won and the other two didn't do so well. Still, it's looking fairly unlikely that wenger will be lifting it. As much as I'd cringe seeing King Drog lift it, anything's better than the harlem globetrotters breaking any more records.

It has got to the point now where I really couldnt care less about the top of the league. Whats far more exciting is the battle for who goes down. That is so much more fun to keep an eye on because lets face it, its not just between two teams rather 6 or 7 teams.

I love to see Premier League dreams crushed, ie Newcastle last year. Nothing made me happier.

Reminds me of 'Survival Sunday' back at the end of the 2004/05 when the bottom four teams all had a chance of avoiding relegation. It was compelling viewing as I think the surviving team changed something like a dozen times through the afternoon, with all the emotion from the fans at the varying grounds (aside from Norwich, who as the team to start the day 17th got stuffed 6-0)!

Also loved being the team to put the final nail in Newcastle's coffin (sorry Dude), mainly for the "we're too big to go down and actually deserve Champions League football" attitude from some of their suppossed fans.

And as a Villa fan the game a few years back when we beat Birmingham on my birthday to ensure our survival and their relegation.

Has anyone seen the news today that the Premier League are considering introducing a play off between fourth to seventh places for the final Champions League spot in a couple of years time? Would make things a whole lot more interesting (unless you're a Liverpool fan!)

couldnt give a s**t who wins it, but i have a feeling chelsea will do it, they are by far the most experienced and composed team,
man u as mush as they dont want to admit it are missing c.ronaldo immensly.
arsenal...same as usual, sexy football but lack consistency.
liverpool have stepped their game up but too little too late

as for breaking into the top four i think its too hard to tell who but i think one of spurs/villa/man city will do it this year.

: ( We'll be back!!!!

As for the Prem race, I agree with most in that the relegation battles are far more interesting and entertaining!!!
I remember watching the 04/05 one in a bar in Bulgaria and we all had a few local notes on a sweepstake and everyone was winning the pot at one time during the day.....good times : )

This year looks like it could go to the wire again, with 2 of about 8 teams joining Pompey in the Championship

I saw that playoff thing for the 4th Champ League spot and I straight away thought it would be a great idea. I have no idea why, so therefore I dont have an arguement for it but I just thought that it would be a welcome addition to an aspect of engliash football that doesnt see enough variety. This could provide that 'spice up'

However, as a fan of english football therefore following the teams in Europe I have doubts about allowing 7th place into the competition: - ie someone like Fulham would have a solid chance to go through, thats not a bad thing and I dont mean and disrespect to the team but what chance do they really have in top flight Eurpoean football?

If all the leagues adopted the same policy then it could make a difference but what are the chances of this it happening here let alone in countries like Italy and Spain where they would be uproar if the named favorites didnt get through.

Still a good idea though in my mind

This is definitely getting more intense the closer it gets to the end of the season.
