Running a bit behind. Haven't even seen Series 7 yet... Even if I had, I wouldn't be watching the new eps as I always wait until it's out on DVD so it can be devoured in one go... : )

Is this the series where Jack starts to get suspicious about events occurring exclusively in 24 hour timeframes?

I've heard lots about 24 but have never really seen it. Couple of questions:-

1: Is it any good?
2: Is it best to watch it from the first series if the answer to 1 is yes?

Haha do I sense I've found someone else who doesn't buy into this gritty US drama hokum??

You have indeed. It's when they start dry humping the cash cow into series seventy of what may have been a partially good idea once that it starts to irk me.

That said, I have found myself enjoying the first series of The Wire.

24 is brilliant. People always put it down and go on about the ludicrousness of it and how it gets worse year by year and, apparently, Season 6 is particularly shite (no, it isn't, the final scene is the best yet). Ignore them. It's all fantastic so, definitely start from Season 1 (various plotlines will make no sense otherwise in Seasons 2 and 3 particularly) and immerse yourself. Just make sure you give yourself at least a weeks break per series, otherwise your head just may implode.. ; )
