I have just purchased Superior Drummer 2.0 to start making the drum tracks required for a personal project. Have any of you guys used this before and have any tips or advice?

I use it, it's fantastic. Are you programming the tracks or using a kit to trigger?

Cool. I will be programming the tracks. That was the whole point of me buying it. I have also purchased the add on's.

Need to start getting the tracks that I have ready, recorded correctly and then mastered.

Any tips would be great sam.......

Hmm, see I use a Roland kit to record the midi parts into Logic, then just tinker with the sounds... What software are you using it with mate? I know there is a thing that comes with it called something like EZ player that has shedloads of ready-made midi files, or you just draw them into your DAW, and use Superior as an insert that reads off the midi file. Best thing to do mate, is have a go at what you want to do and let me know if you hit problems? Happy to help, can come over yours and have a look too if you want : )

Well, got Sam coming over on wednesday, so, thanks Sam, very much appreciated. I think I have sussed now what you have to do. I can get all the fills and pre-programmed beats woking now through Toontrack host and EZplayer, but, I think you have to MIDI the drums into something like SONAR. So, with that in mind I have just purchased SONAR 8.5 Producer edition and a really good square recording Mic with Pop shield - etc etc.

Should give me a pretty good setup and then all I need to do is learn how to produce properly - hahahahahaha

Keeping this going so it reminds me what I have to do if I ever have to re-install.

Got Sonar 8.5 installed. Used the vst plugin but had to use the program to point to the Steinburg plugin's where the SD2.0 dll's were kept. Now I can insert SD2.0 under the soft synth and then Piano Roll View to get the drums up. All I need to do now is work out the MIDI and see if that works and record the 3 new tracks I have ready. Its all looking good now.
