I've just read that this song was written by the lead singer of The Bravery (anyone remember them? made a few pretty good singles back in 2004/2005 esp "Unconditional" and "Honest Mistake" before the NME turned on them and they sank without trace).

Mika - We Are Golden

It's got to be a contender for worst song ever, let alone worst song of the year. I didn't mind Grace Kelly (there, I said it), in fact I quite liked prancing about the kitchen doing the falsetto bits while I was making my tea. Everything after it and particularly this song though, dear god it makes me want to hurt somebody.

"We Are Golden" has to be the worst sub "High School Musical" b-side ever made. It's truly, truly awful he should actually be phsysically punished for inflicting this twee, cliche'd, sugary s**t on us. It's like something the deluded "Mr G" from Summer Heights High would write for one of his God-awful 6th form plays.

Please don't anyone tell me they like this song.

I don't, but, for some reason, the chorus reminds me of a(n even more) camp Alice Cooper.

I was going to mention that as well, but I thought I've been getting a bit carried away on here recently. It's bloody awful! Dumb as f**k nursery rhyming over a song that's been lifted pretty much in its entirety. He's literally just talking s**t over an old tune. I'm sure it's probably a licence to print money for Titchy, but it's gone far enough surely? It seems all you have to do is pick some random dance tune that you heard on the Waltzer when you were twelve and then just talk in painfully clumsy, borderline remedial, rhyming couplets over the top. It only sells because there are enough retards to buy it (though I'm on dodgy ground here in terms of accessing quality as I'll admit, I own "Aggadoo" on 12 inch).
