Swindon Music

The Swindon Music Sessions are a series of weekly events aiming to showcase the finest talent Swindon has to offer, as well as bringing to light a few of Swindon‘s lesser known bands. The second of three events, hosted at Riffs Bar on Thursday 18 June, features an experienced line-up including three of the more established bands from the local music scene.

The night will be headlined by local indie-rock band Talk In Code. Since forming in spring 2007, the band established themselves as one of Swindon’s leading acts. The band have enjoyed success both locally and throughout the South of England, building on a well attended EP launch and headline slots at the Swindon Shuffle and Sugarhill Festival with sell out shows in Newbury, Clapham Grand and Camden’s Barfly.

Leading the support on the night is three-piece rock band Soulsmith. Since the release of their first album Obsessed With Hiding in March 2008, the band have been working hard to build up a fan base playing shows regularly as far a field as Manchester and Leicester. The band is currently writing material for their second studio album expected later this year.

Opening the night will be the talented local songwriter, Billyjon. Whether backed by a full band or simply armed with an acoustic guitar, Billyjon possesses the natural talent and ability to deliver well-crafted, powerful songs.
