I have to agree with Matt - my other reference was before I saw the film, but watched it on the way back from Chicago - I actually think the bloke who played the very first attempt at the terminator was outstanding and stole the film.

I agree that Sam Worthington was the cast standout, I just didn't like the way they'd quoted lines and semi-recreated scenes from the old films. As an action film in its own right it's a winner; it's just that there was a hell of a lot more to Cameron's films. The first Terminator is one of the finest pieces of cinema of all time.

I couldnt agree with you more. The first Terminator movie was pure genius. Unbelievably good script, and unusually good acting from Schwarzenneger amongst others like Michael Biehn abd Linda whatever her name is.......

Yep, first Terminator is a cast-iron classic. The sequel is a stunner but, let's be honest, utterly unnecessary. The latest one? I haven't seen it yet and, seeing as the new DVD appears to be a bit of a con as it doesn't have the "directors cut" (which is exclusive to the Blu-Ray) it might be a while before I do. I somehow don't think I'm missing much though... :p
