Paul Weller at the Oasis
£32 a ticket

Now on the plus side there's no denying Paul Weller is a bit of a legend, personally I prefered his work with The Jam and find his solo stuff (especially everything from this decade) a bit too Dad-rock, but fair enough another big name plays Swindon.

But if I was going to play £32 to see someone play live I would expect a venue rather than a leisure centre, let's face it, the Oasis isn't really cut out for live music and only highlights further the need for a 1500+ venue in this town.

That's the really frustrating thing, the fact we pretty much had a venue ready and the right man to run it, then the council shagged it up for him, us and the rest of this town.

My bro went and bought 4 tickets, so I'm having one off him. In all fairness, KOL at the oasis was one of the best gigs I've ever been to - despite the venue, the atmosphere was fantastic and the band were on top form. I still agree it'd be nice to have a big 'proper' venue though.
