Swindon Music

The last few days I have been moving stuff around on the blog so some of the links might have been cocked up. It is reletivley safe to come back in now, the links should work and there are even more pages. Thesite is ordered by genres so just head for the type of music that appeals to you and you should find everything from local to international coverage, be it reviews, news, gossip, etc.

Some of the newer pages have only a few posts on, so if anyone has anything worth while to add let me know, its all about he content.

Also some of the psts had to be manually prised from their old location to their new and as such theymay have lost their comments in the process..esecially the stuff that used to bein the On The Record section. I urge anyone who likes the idea of a Swindon based music site that is trying to promote and write about it's bands, music community and people to head in and leave some comments to cheer the pace up a bit. Go on be supportive and help make this site work.

I was really chuffed when Mr Lazarus asked me to contribute towards the blog and I feel it's a potentially great online "fanzine" for articles relating to the local scene and beyond, a perfect companion to the forums.... and I promise not to keep posting about The Fall.

Indulge yourself Mr Moon, there is enough space on the blog for anything
you want to write about. Just try and keep it down to 1 Fall item a month.

I have opened up an area to encorporate the genres of Urban, hip hop, dance, DJ's etc, but as its not a circle I move in, I could do with a bit of help covering those areas. If anyone has a decent writiing style, wants to review, comment and otherwise cover these genres by dropping the odd article or post my way every nw and again, it would be much appreciated. Hope fully we can keep a good turn over from all areas of the music commuity.

actually i've been speaking with Robert Hampson these past 12 months who used to be the singer/guitarist with the quitefranklybloodymarvellous Loop who made some great dronerock records between 1987-1990, given that he's just started a re-issue programme of said band's back catalogue expect a feature shortly.

Anyone with a liking for Neu, Can, Faust, The Stooges, MC5 will probably enjoy
