Just been rediscovering the delights of Burning Tree via their one and only eponymous album. A brilliant bit of seventies inflected, Southern Rock/Blues/sleaze groove beast. Thoughts people.....

I've recently taken delivery of 'The (Un)Authorised Bootleg Album', 'In The Dynamite Jet Saloon' and 'A Graveyard Of Empty Bottles', the three key Dogs D'Amour albums released between 1988 and 1990, before they got too carried away and forgot all about quality control, seemingly desperate to make up for the years when they didn't have a record deal by releasing album-after-album-after-multiple-format-single-with-exclusive-b-sides ...

Has anyone come across Rival Sons? Saw a write-up today that name-checked some decent influences, not least the Black Crowes ....

The only vaguely related news I can offer this thread is that Vinnie Vincent - fresh from his wife-beating/dead dogs incident - has announced he's going to re-record the second Vinnie Vincent Invasion with the singer from the first album, Robert Fleishman, on vocals.

Robert Fleishman being the vocalist he let leave the band because he refused to pay him anything reasonable and then told the world was nowhere near as good as the new vocalist he found to record the second album.

To date, it's not known whether Fleishman even knows about the supposed re-recording. Good old Vinnie.

(Mind you, I'd buy it!)

As part of the pain-staking process of replacing records I sold during the turntable-less years, recent purchases have included the first two Soho Roses singles/EPs (‘So Alone’, what a song ...) and the Last Of The Teenage Idols LP. Think I’ll steer clear of the Tattooed Love Boys though; they may be a footnote in the Wildhearts story but Christ were they awful.

Incredible to see some of the prices old vinyl’s going for at the moment. Could hardly give it away a few years ago.

Tattooed Love Boys.... (bad) blast from the past!

Havent bought any vinyl since I sold it all to fund other (ahem) pastimes many moons ago, but the mother in law has just bought down her original vinyl first print of the first Rolling Stones album after seeing it in the paper selling for £1000 apparently.
If only I had a copy of that back in those days!!

Bit of bumpage to counter the spam ... though I will add that I've recently been given a large chunk of someone's vinyl collection. Includes some things that I had and sold, replacing on CD (eg Redd Kross 'Phaseshifter', Iggy's 'Lust For Life'), others I only ever had on CD (both Jellyfish LPs - incidentally, those are being reissued in the new year on 180gsm vinyl), a third copy of the Hollywood Brats LP (myself and Mrs Slaz had a copy apiece) and others that I never owned and do not wish to (eg Skid Row's debut album). Oh, and quite a lot of Def Leppard ...

I gave some of my old vinyl to Mr Franklin the other month, thankfully I spared him my Def Leppard albums as they ended up being given to a Charity Shop. I bet "Phaseshifter" sounds great on vinyl.

although you did try to sneak in a Fall album tucked inside another album. Still the rest was most welcome, Hanoi Rocks, Killing Joke, The Birthday Party, some rare early Sisters albums that I'd never even heard of, The Cure and some wonderful new discoveries for me such as Sunshot and The Telescopes. Nice.

Some interesting stuff on those Sisters of Mercy bootlegs including the rather fine "Good Things" the single that never was.

Telescopes made a nice cheery noise as well

I seem to recall Sunshot supporting the Sisters of Mercy in 1992 at the NEC in Birmingham although I could be wrong, then again Tim Bricheno's brother was the guitarist in said band so that would've made sense.

Oops... slight diversion on the eye-liner-tastic thread into late 80's indie and goth
