If we dont die a slow and painful death on March 5th, there should be some recordings done in the next couple of weeks after that. As for friends, we will wait for them to come in their adoring hordes (again, this is very much dependant on us not dieing on our collective arses on the 5th!!!)

Given that Hotel 75's live debut is but 3 days away... I feel this is a good excuse to kick-start this thread once more

If you get close to the stage when we play and look over the monitors you will be able to spot Mark sporting cycle clips , just in case.

OK, so let's hear all about last night then .... by the looks of some of the comments on the 'What's On' thread it sounds like it was a success!

I think we were all pretty impressed with ourselves. Jake was the star of the show, first live gig and obviously nervous but he played a blinder. The crowd seemed to like it so we must have done something right. Actually I can't wait to do it again.

As for the other bands, a great show all round Ratbags in particular stood out. I guess they were the unknown factor and they just mesmorised everyone with such a wall of sound and shoutyness. Diablo 13 just get better everytime, Countrycore is officially here to stay and the 2 Sick Monkeys were their usual jamboree of punk, swearing and the one man comedy festival that is Mr Butler. Top night.

There's a thread over on Glitzinet asking people to name "the album, whatever, that you feel is an essential MUST HAVE of the genre ... that one release that we all feel is the "must have", the CD that when you go into somebodies house who claims to be into the style, if they don't have it, you almost faint."

Of the responses so far it's a close race between the first NY Dolls album and Hanoi's Back To Mystery City. Pop across and cast your votes ....

Given that Mr Franklin has been listening to Gunfire Dance today

I feel it's time to bring the Eye-liner-tastic thread back to life!!

The Creatures have made some great music over the years, Siouxsie and Budgie are both legends

This thread was linked into a rather fine blog one of our posters Slaz has called "glamrockaftershock" and is primarily about glam punk bands from the 1970s-present day, this thread originally reminded me of some classic stuff and introduced me to bands such as The Hollywood Brats and Gunfire Dance who I'd never heard before.

I think The Creatures are well within the remit of this thread...no-one wore more eye liner than Siouxsie. Although a Banshees fan, I never heard much of the Creatures....what's my first purchase?

Their debut album "Feast" was great, (Features the hit single "Miss The Girl"; ) although it's a bit hard to track down these days, I have it on cassette (a most useful format)

I've been listening to LA Guns mighty fine debut album for the first time in about 15 years.

It's a shame I won't be DJing at Songs Of Praise next week, I had all my CDs ready - Faster Pussycat, Smashed Gladys, LA Guns, Junkyard, Nymphs, Cinderella ..
