Can anyone offer any advice on repainting a guitar. I've googled and found literally hundreds of websites and forum posts about it and started to digest them all and wondered if anyone knows a link to really good walkthrough or any advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Ideally I'd like to remove the original green paint and use some kind of stain to leave it natural looking. In fact I'd like it to look quite beat up, cos its a rubbish guitar and I use it primarily to make noise and would like the aesthetic to fit that.

Perhaps I've thought about that too much.
