Guns N Roses release "Chinese Democracy"

Has anyone, regardless of if it was original members or not, managed to release new material nearly 2 decades after the music that made them famous and it has managed to live up to the hype.

I'm not sure what people were really expecting.

That poses a good question, acts that have released a late return to form years after their supposed peak?

I'd say Bruce Springsteen's "Ghost of Tom Joad" or the albums Johnny Cash cut with Rick Rubin would fall into that category.

Anyway, I'm taking Axl's idea one stage further

Me, Skood and Jurgen are going to reform Sly and The Family Stone and make their first album in 28 years minus any of the original members.

Reply to Post 34204 by MarkEMoon in Guns N Roses release "Chinese Democracy" Why stop here, perhaps Krist Novoselic should get back in the studio with several session musicians and record the "long awaited follow up to In Utero" so what if Kurts dead and Dave's busy with the Foo Fighters.... perhaps Cresta Cola could give a free drink away with each copy.

Didn't he pretty much do that with that "From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah" ??

I thought that was a live album?
