PES 2009 out on Xbox 360 and PS3 this Friday.

No doubt every fan has played the demo to find its like Pro evo 5 with the nice slow build ups and seems much more tactical then last years poorest version of pro evo ever due to the bugs and oddities throughout the game. I'm not even mentioning online play...hmph.....

The new spanking PES 2009 is upon us. They have promised us weeks of testing online (there is some prove on youtube) and 2v2. Cyprus already have the game out as per usual and is recieving great feedback on online play.

However, they have failed to bring 2 players on the same console to play online. Instead its 1 xbox per player for a total of 4 players online. Making it 2v2. Another missed opportunity.

I'm not buying this for my PS3 due to its crapness online and lengthy loading times as I've managed to purchase PES 2008 and Civ rev for both consoles(long story). The 360 versions do the online functionality so much better and the loading times are less (even though the PS3 installs the game???).

I'm not sure if I'm going to bother this year, from what I can see on youtube it doesn't look much better. I've been wanting to get a demo but I haven't got the internet in my new place yet to download it

Unless your a hardcore fan like me. Don't bother this year.

The online element has improved the lag, but somehow made the interface cumbersome making it difficult to get a decent 2v2 game. Best version was PES6 on the PS2/PC. Why oh why do they remove groups, tournaments, 4v4 and online with 2 at a console.

Though 2v2 is fun when you get a game going and the online legends bit is a just a bit weird. Taking control of 1 player and goal hanging doesn't feel like football.

As soon as I get my Xbox back from repair I shall join you for some 2v2 timmy, i'm itching to play it on the 360. i've had to make do with the PC version for now.

The urge was over powering and I ended up giving in and buying it. I like it, the game play seems better (although its harder to shrug players off the ball and players don't seem to have any pace) and I like the become a legend mode but it seems like it'd take ages to get anywhere with it

Played online on this yesterday and it's nearly as bad as 2008 sadly. I think the single player mode has improved. It's more like PES6. It's not ahead of Fifa anymore though sadly. I am a bit of a PES nut so i still purchased it and i'm still enjoying it. If you like to one or the other and you like online play i would probably say Fifa would be better.

I find myself not playing it much..looks over at Civ rev and Fable 2.

And Rock band 2 should arrive this weekend along with Fallout 3 next week. Looks PES2009 maybe a little dusty unless I can get regularly 2v2 action....which is a nightmare.
