Drum Lessons
Thu 9 Oct 2008 14:52
Ello,

My name's Nick and I'm the drummer for No World Borders (www.myspace.com/noworldborders). I'm going to be available for lessons at Holmes Music starting very soon starting on saturdays. I've played in many punk bands including The Directors, Richard Bacchus & the Luckiest Girls (UK touring band), Collective Responsibility, Anarcho Folko and more.

I've just finished a degree in music at Dartington College of Arts and have specialised in using electronic rhythms in live drumming, culminating in my new band No World Borders which is a punk'n'breaks political band, trying to make socially conscious music approachable for those outside the cider punk diaspora.

I've played in many shows in the UK doing the usual hits (Joseph, West Side Story, Grease etc.) and I've toured the UK, the Isle of Man, Northern Ireland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia and Austria.

If anyone would be interested in starting lessons with me please contact me on 07533 749728, prices will be around £20 per hour/£10 per half hour. I'm happy to work on anything with you, and have studied 'Alexander Technique' so can help sort out any aches and pains from repetitive strain and try and correct any technique your not happy with.

You can reach me anytime on the number above, or my email is nicholasbarrie@peacemail.com

Cheers!

Nick.

Ha ha the joys of touring Bosnia and Serbia, all the best with the teaching mate and see ya at The Junction on the 26th.

Oh and 'diaspora'......I had to google it but I knew it would be a good word as it was right next to cider!!

sounds like you know your music. Should be able to pass on your experience to prospective students.

Bet you've got some great tales form touring Europe too.

Cheers
Good Luck.
