I always find it interesting as to how and why bands got their names as there is always some story behind it...

looking into Kings of Leons the other day (im not obsessed..honest!) and how they came up with thier name!! well as most of you probably know they are a family band comprising of three brothers and a cousin, they got their name from their father and grandfather as his name is Leon so therefore you get Kings Of Leon!

My friends glam rock band was called DiscoCunt, after we went for a meal and the take-away menus were printed '10% discocunt'
Unsurprisingly they never played a gig.

My first band was called Mr Black after Reservoir Dogs. He was the member of the gang that doesn't appear in the film, because he's on another job. We thought we were being oh so clever!!!

My first band was Rockit Dolls - so named because at 16 it sounded like something that was sooooooooooooooooo rock n roll. We then morphed into the Interstellar Barbarellas because we thought we were cleverer by then, so needed a better name (admittedly this was when 17, so we probably werent any cleverer at all!)

My next band was Love Like Us (named after the classic film Nobody Loves Like Us).

Now Im in Veer Luth. There is a valid reason for that name but when were initiated into the Brazilian tribe that named the band we were sworn to secrecy. The only was you would find the reason is to remove our spleen and read the reason that has been tattooed onto it.

My first (proper) band was called Eric's Syncopated Dance Band because

a) there was no one in the band called Eric
b) we were not very syncopated
c) it wasn't easy to dance to us

People still come up to me in the street in Oxford and call me Eric!

I checked out the ESDB site and was impressed to see that you recorded in David Peggs studio..the man is a folk legend. Well it impressed me anyway. Need to play Tull's, Broadsword and the Beast when I get home.

I called "Buzztone" Buzztone because we formed to enter a competition (with "Veda" and "Anish"at the Link centre in 1998, before I moved here, organized by a Canadian guy called "Kent Goodman" fact fans) and needed a name really quickly. i never liked it as a band name but am crap at thinking of band names so kept it.

When the "Buttzone" jokes (or is that "cracks" ) came out, I hated it even more.

My first ever band was called "Seven Stone Weaklings" but I have no idea why that was.
