Here's where I lose any credibility I
might have had on here, lol! The wife and I have pretty much watched every episode since it began. We do every year. We're "that sad" that we even SKY+ it for when we're out, lol! But - sod it! I admit I like the format of the show. It's entertaining.
As for Ally, I've not seen him on the telly at the auditions, but I did hear that he's got a development deal with SONY BMG, so whether that affected his application, I have no idea. I'm sure he'll be able to answer, next time he's on here.
I totally didn't realise I didn't update anything on the outcome of that ''so called deal'' I was offered. After all the initial excitement about it all, it seems to have turned out abit misleading and overblown.
I went all the way to Camden for a meeting and basically found out after carefully talking and reading things over that this deal was not in the best interests of me, and what I would get in return out of it was not exactly reasonable in my own view. It looks as though I would probably be losing out more than gaining. Also they were not willing to add my band to the deal also. Just to clarify it was actually a subsidery label of Sony BMG not the actual Sony BMG themselves. At present things are not dead in the water with this yet but alot of it depends on how certain things develop in other areas before any improved terms are offered. So at present just keeping my options opened.
As for X-Factor, I spent 3 days in Cardiff getting through stage after stage of the pre- tele auditions and I was supposed to get a call when I made it past the final stage if they wanted you to meet Simon and co for the tele auditions. I never got the call, I probably missed the call as I'm never at home. Or I was either not good enough for tele or not bizzare enough. Mind you I was asked to sing and play a song on guitar for the Xtra Factor, I also had to introduce the show ''Welcome back to the Xtra factor'' and then wave my hands like aloon. Not sure if that made the air? I hope not, it would be so cringeworthy.
I'm not saying this as a sore loser or anthing but it's a t.v personality show rather than a talent show. I mean how the the hell can you justify somebody like Leon Jackson as an overall winner over f**k knows how many thousands?
People like Leona Lewis and before her Will Young are probably the only credible winners in my opinion who offer something that really stands out.
At the end of the day they already know what type of singer they are looking for to win the show, they make that obvious by the producers and record company peeps telling thousands of really amazing singers before the tele stage's they ain't through. It didn't matter how good they were, they just say no without pretty much giving a reason. It's clear they didn't meet a criteria what they are looking for in this years winner. It's hardly a fair talent show really ain't it?
Why did they axe Fame Academy? It was at least a little more of a genuine talent show.
