MAN FROM EARTH
Superb indie film that'll make you think!!
Fri 26 Sep 2008 14:10
Budget on this film is low, but the quality is not!!

Based around a guy who's leaving his friends after knowing them for 10 years and then confesses at his party that he's a 14,000 cro-magnon caveman. They obviously disbelieve, but throughout the party he explains things and they start to question both theirs and his sanity. some amazing revelations and brilliant bits of dialogue. And it's got the guy from Candyman in!!

Excellent film and probably one of my favourite movies of the year.

Even better, it's available to watch on free download. Just google "Man from Earth" and "watch streaming".

The producers of the movie have praised file sharing as it's made it accessible for people everywhere to hear about a movie they'd normally not know about.

Watch it. Honestly. You won't be disappointed.

I had a quick look and couldn't find it to stream online, but will download on bittorrent when I get home. Sounds interesting

Streaming site

Not sure which one I watched it on, but it had poker ads on it and had the whole movie in one go.

Noi Albinoi's ok, though I preferred Reykjavik 101 which is a similar sort of thing.

I think Morvern Callar was a bit boring (though it was a while ago I watched it and can't remember much), though Ratcatcher by Lynne Ramsay is good.

La Haine is a must see.

I've seen Notes on a Scandal; it makes an okay film, Judi Dench is perfect for her role, but the book is much better in my opinion.

raining stones and my name is joe are both fucking brilliant. i love ken loach films, would recommend any by him or shane meadows. loved nil by mouth too but it's very disturbing. la haine is great. i'd agree about morvern callar, it was a disappointment to me. i'd recommend hallam foe, a much better scottish indie film.

I am also I sucker for a grim and depressing Ken Loach film. 'Sweet Sixteen' and 'Ae Fond Kiss' are both scottish set Loach films well worth a watch, although the latter is actually quite sweet and uplifting.
