Tis a good time to be a Man City fan
Finally, something to smile about

Yeah I know it was Pompey but they are still a hard team to beat, not only did we thrash them but 6 different players scored, real team performance, Ireland should take the plaudits (his workrate was astounding) Wright-Phillips looks a changed man, Robinho looks like a great signing.

I still don't think we're a top 4 club but, I do think we can push for the top 6, really positive attacking football.

Great start to the season for the blue side of Manchester : )

Despite Man City having billions of pounds I hope they keep faith in the youth set up they've got going. It's nice to see they've got home grown talent and all were all integral parts in the 6-0 win. Ireland bossed the midfield and let SWP and Robinho run riot. Hart and Richards form part of the spine of the team, Johnson and Ireland are both regular in midfield and Onouha, Ched Evans and Daniel Sturridge are all on the fringes.

At the moment I like them and the club as a whole, but if they just end up splashing the cash I will start to hate them.

As a City fan I would agree with that, we've brought some great players the youth team and need to continue to do so, the new owners recognise that fact and also seem to understand that Mark Hughes picks the team and chooses who to buy.

You can't buy success, there's no doubt Robinho is a class act but what impressed me most about the 6-0 win over Portsmouth was the way the entire team played as a unit.
