During the course of a few gigs and some open mic nights, I've ended up playing through various different PA set ups and and effects. All I normally do is plug my guitar into a DI and let whoever does the sound work it out.

Last week at riffs, to me the sound was spot on. Seemed to be a some compression and reverb, but some of the gigs I get don't have this.

Does anyone have some suggestions for effects pedals for acoustic guitars? Compression? Short Delay?
I don't want anything too complicated, I get frustrated with effects too easily!

Or perhaps it would be more worthwhile buying a decent acoustic amp?

Anyone got some opinions.

I use the Yamaha AG Magicstomp. Has loads of stuff on it, specifically for acoustic stuff.
