Reply to Post 26508 by SI_1 in Massive Thanks to the Musicians and Gig-Goers of Swindon I think the atmoshpere was if anything, better than last year. I had a great time and really appreciate getting to play some gigs I really enjoyed.

I even bought Mrs Moon a pint, I must have been in bouyant mood! : )

She appreciated that Beverage mate!! and fair play for not one, but 2 cracking sets!!!

Well I managed Half-A-Shuffle (Sat & Sun)! That's more than I thought I might manage this time last week, so am well pleased to have been around for what was turned out to be a cracking weekend! My Shuffle began with a fry-up and a pint in The Rolly at mid-day on Saturday and ended around 3am last night back at Paj's after 2 days of musical mayhem!

I thoroughly enjoyed playing, watching and jamming at various points through the weekend. Jon Trowbridge's Snoop Dog left a lasting impression on me, as did Gaz's 4-chords-medley "sex that I'll miss, not you". Excellent stuff!

Well done to all involved; Shuffle Committee, Bands, Venues, Bar Staff, and most importantly EVERYONE who went!
: )

And a massive thankyou to Daz and Lisa from Puttyfoot, I was saddened when they called time on promoting gigs but pleased they remained a key part of this year's Shuffle, 2 of the nicest most down to earth people you could ever wish to meet, they worked tirelessly this weekend and were an essential ingredient of the festival... thank you

Proud of everyone. The comradery and spirit at The Shuffle was immense!

Everyone involved and everyone who supported were amazing. Especially at those oh so very painfull moments when it felt like the world was going to end, everyone rallied on in there and raised it. I might have to take week off next time, one day is not going to be enough. Some fantastic memories and moments that will have had me grinning like a cheshire cat all week long.

Would be great if Sugarhill got plenty of the same good vibes.

i definately will not be working a fucking minute when next years takes place-i didnt witness any aggro(apart from the geezer in the dark rimmed glasses and black t shirt that attempted to trip me up outside the vic last night-cock)
stunning!

I think I'll probably be the only one to say this but I don't think I enjoyed the shuffle as much as I did last year. I didn't think the atmosphere was as good as last years but this was probably down to my own sullen mood than anything and also a lot of awkward conversations with people I know, but not well enough to have a conversation with. That'd just be me though...

Saying that though, every band I saw throughout the weekend was a high standard and I really enjoyed Saturday night and Matt Kilford was great on the sunday. I'm disappointed I didn't get to see Lighterthief but at that point I was dead on my feet.

...but I don't think I'll never forget tomorrows_hobo for calling me Bozley!

8 ) What can I say ?? 8 )

I was drunk - BLIND DRUNK
Lost in the shuffle moment
and
I'm off to specsavers in my lunch break : )

Was gutted I couldn't see more of the acts, it turned out to be a pretty hectic weekend but still was overwhelemed by my first shuffle experience on Friday and Saturday

Great event put on by all involved including Bozley.... I mean adam : ) ...............

What a weekend!!! I had a lot of fun. It probably helped that I took this year off from the committee, so I was able to enjoy it as a punter. Back to the hard work next year!!!

I would also, as part of Diablo 13, thank everyone who gave us such a fantastic response when we played. It was nerve wracking for us as we were playing with a new line-up, but buoyed by the crowd we played a blinder.

And we made last nights adver!!! Woo hoo!!! : )

Thank you very much.

In some ways, I can see where you're coming from, Adam. I missed the outdoor party atmosphere of the 12 Bar last year, and as much as each day had a good vibe, it didn't have the same kind of buzz and a feeling that there were loads of new faces about that were introduced to the music scene. But this year, most of the musicians stuck around for other acts so that made for a good vibe in a different way. Also, I think there were many things that were better than last year, so when you weigh it all up, it was definitely a great success. Hopefully, with the experience of two shuffles under their belts, the guys will know what's worked well in previous years and what needs improving and next year will be even better. Can't wait!

I'm not sure I was even in the country for last year's shuffle, so I preferred this year. colon p.

Lighterthief - best band/not-really-a-band of the weekend by a baker's mile. (That's 1/12th of a mile more than a mile for those of you not in the know.) Atmosphere was blinding, if the weather was nicer it would have been better, but it was probably my best weekend of the year.... so far...... sugarhill?

Buswell, Attica Seasons, Hip Route, The Julia Set, Matt Kilford all had my boat floating pretty buoyantly as well. We did good.

I had a great weekend! missed the friday, but im not much of an indie boy and cash was being considered. Jeff Like Usual left me wanting more, and Durera were kick-fucking-ass! I'd had enough vodka to fell an average cow by this point i think and i could stop my feet from-a two stepping. great one! Sorry to Paj and Sam for my drunken ranting about a certain ex-drummer (they pointed out it wouldve been nice to see a golden rule playing, i agreed, and elaborated, a lot as i remember, which i dont)

After i woke up on a sofa, and dragged my sorry sack of pickled organs to the vic, i had a great time watching a pissed gaz reel off some truly funny covers and a great time peeling off some of our own with "Blind Dogs..."

Lighterthief blew me away, as ever. Stu and his motley ensemble of the (talented sector of the..) who's who of swindon truly set the bar for originality, musicanship and "i wish i was stoned cos this is mind expanding stuff"-ness. I saw the beginning of the beatbullys but left to prop myself up on a kitchen table with some more cider and a much needed smoke. i am writing now from home on my second sick day. hehe! Cant wait till next year! maybe we'll have a drummer by then! i want to be a part of this kick a*s weekend next time!

Was a good un thats for sure! Had lots of fun at the Beehive despite a constant migraine I'm still unable to shift! There were plenty of people new to swindons music circuit getting involved as well so thats very encouraging
