After the votes being checked and verified, I can reveal that Elaine Dismissed have won the vote with 34% of the votes. However, the band have declined the offer of the opening slot meaning second placed band Rag Doll Girl will now be opening the show on 15th August.

Congratulations Rag Doll Girl and a big thank you all the bands that took part.

Personal issues aside (eh Jamie), RDG are a cracking grunge/blues band. It's about the music...right?

Bit of a cock up by Elaine Dismissed. Bit odd confirming a gig at Riffs and being in the running for the Furnace gig. I guess they thought they would never win? Leningrad should have entered...we might have actually won...not!

We confirmed the Riffs gig quite a while ago and realised half way through this comp that we'd foolishly double booked.

Also didn't expect to win this, just wanted a bit of exposure.

It's the best of both worlds, we won the comp, people know who we are, we havn't annoyed Andy from Riffs by pulling out, The Shuffle gets a good band who were very close behind us to play and we get to headline riffs on a Friday

Everyones happy!

If Jamie's happy then I'm happy! It was a close call right up until the end so Rag Doll Girl are more than worthy to fill the spot. With a new lineup too so it should be a good one.
