Just compiled a CD that mirrors the setlist from Funeral For A Friend's show in Oxford last night. They really were stunningly impressive.

I'll be listening to this for a while.

Any children of the 80s here who remember Robin Of Sherwood? I'm currently listening to tons of music from the show taken from the DVDs which I'm hoping to compile into a proper album...

There is a sound track album called ..oddly enough Robin of Sherwood OST..its by Clannad, they did all the music, I expect you can pick it up for a couple of groats on yea olde e-bay shoppe. Well worth a go.

The new album is great, that the five tracks they played from it held up perfectly against the classics just proves how good it really is. The only, very minor, downside (and I know what the reasoning is) was that they only played one track from 'Tales Don't Tell Themselves'. Ironically, it went down a storm (no weak concept album related pun indended). If they'd have also included 'Walk Away', I reckon it'd have been the perfect FFAF set.

Unfortunately, we missed Attack! Attack! - doors were stated as 7pm originally, then we found out the first band was on at 6.30pm and then, on the night, we discovered that they were actually on at 6pm. So, we arrived to hear the last two songs from In Case Of Fire - who were OK.

Cancer Bats were excellent (although in the live environment they really did remind me of a re-invention of White Zombie for the late 2000's) and I thought FFAF might struggle a little to follow them, as various reviews have claimed.

Well, not so, FAFF were nothing short of world class from start to finish. Personally speaking, I went to see Muse at Wembley Stadium when they did their two big shows there and as I watched FAFF I couldn't help thinking it's bizarre that they're not at that kind of level themselves. They are literally stadium class now.

Late of The Pier - Fantasy Black Channel
Bauhaus - In The Flatfield

As Magic Club Rich was saying to me the other week some of the LOTP stuff sounds not unlike Bauhaus (esp Bathroom Gurgle), he would be right with that assumption as well.

It's called "Legend" and I've had it for over 20 years mate. That only has a fraction of the music though - there's tons more that was never released - barstewards!! :p

how very conservative of you!...opps don't start that again. Actually we all know that although your heart lies with crappy key...errrr.....electronic based musical forms you do have a wide appreciation of all sorts of music.....Rage is a good example of that. We know you are one of the good guys, we just don't want you to get big headed.

Funny band, Slayer. I get requests for "Raining Blood" and "Angel Of Death" occasionally, yet whenever I play them, no one ever dances - not even the person who requests it!? I know it's nigh-on impossible to dance to their stuff so, why on earth ask for it in a nightclub?? 8 )
