There's always a few jerk-offs who come along for the glory but the rest who come along for the semi's and final may, just may come back next season for a few more games? All good for the Swindon coffers. Personally? I don't give a f**k about them. My dad took me to my first game in 1968 and we stood on the Stratton Bank. He was a steward for over 10 years and when he died the club secretary represented the club at his funeral. He only saw one brief spell of glory, promotion and Leage Cup in 1969. I have been proud to see many 'glory' days since and, to be frank, some pretty fucking awful days...I'm talking about you Herbert! That's why I charged double to do your floor!...

I was born in Swindon and I'll probably die in Swindon. I will shed a tear on the 29th whether we win or lose because I can't help falling in love with you.

I have been trying to remember the last time I went to see a Swindon match. I dont recall the year but is home home against either Grimbsy or Tranmere and Paul Bodin (spelling?) scored a last minute penalty. I must have been about 11. Christ, has it been that long?!

Never a truer word spoken.

Saying that though, she does have an hidden motive in that she needs me otherwise she could end up anywhere other than Wembley. Should be a good day though and I have never been to the national stadium before so fitting that it is Swindon.

Foam hand and flag bought from the club shop today. I've been telling myself I won't get too disheartened if the Town don't win, but seeing all the heartwarming Wembley merch makes me think it might actually drive me to shed a few man tears. Above all else, I really hope it's a trouble-free day. Forget the pissed-up yobbos; families having a great day out with their little 'uns is what these matches are all about.
