Come on STFC!
Well this is a Swindon forum, isn't it?!

Don't think it was quite that bad. I've seen worse. Malpas will be gone if we lose on Saturday anyway. And if we only draw we have to beat Northampton on Tuesday or he's gone. Basically he's got 2 more games and needs at least 4 points.

Watched the reserve game - a performance on a par with if not better than last saturday's performance. Corr should start against Southend (at BP's expense) after a solid performance where only some of the kids letting him down stopped him scoring more than a single goal. Wouldn't even be surprised to see our old mate Pooky come on a bit later too. Whatever, we need 3 points.

Sigh.

Well he is only here because we have a game tomorrow. If we don't win it could well be over for him. I've heard all sorts of crap though. Like if we lose he's gone and Holloway's in before Saturday but i have also heard he won't be going anywhere for a while 8 )

Oh yeah, and you gotta love that prediction!

Balls to all this "hope we lose so Malpas goes" mentality displayed by some 'fans' in the adver - how can losing another game do us any good?! Swindon 'til I die.

Agreed. Would love a win tomorrow.

And a win it was : )

Michael Pook played a blinder, saved us on a couple of occasions. It's a shame our centre backs don't attack the ball but from small acorns...

Agreed, pook well and truly justified his place. Timlin saved us on more than one occasion too. Let's just hope we can build on this and take another 3 points at home on saturday.

Yeah, keep Pook in as opposed to "I'm out for my Saturday afternoon constitutional, oh and did I mention that I don't really want to play for Swindon?" Nallis.

Billy took his goal v.well, sick to death of seeing Cox chasing after over the top balls that he's always 2nd favourite for... but I guess Malpas sees somebody who's clearly a second striker with a lot of quality as a 'spearhead'.

Good football for around 50% of the game though, which is obviously an improvement on the last three games by around, er...50% (mibbe 45% for Leeds!)

Nice to see Sean Morrisson awarded the adver 'star man' against Oldham, even if he wasn't recognised on the day. Timlin also looked very good as part of another confident town performance and another well-deserved 3 points. Walsall's last result as well as our current run (well, two games!) and respectable away form all bode well for another 3 points tomorrow (touch wood). : )

Budgie got them playing really well during the gap between Sturrock and Malpas, and going by yesterday's performance (as good as, if not better than any performance Malpas got out of them) he looks set to continue. A couple more games playing like that and I'd say give the man a shot at doing it full-time. If not then Poyet, Nijholt or Dowie would be my preferences.

We didn't play well yesterday though. I don't care what anyone says, Byrne didn't go with any width the defence was still a joke. We got lucky at the end simply because the only difference between a Byrne and Malpas side is that a Byrne one actually shows some passion. Byrne is not the answer and i'd be very dissapointed if he was given the job. FWIW i doubt he will be. John Ward, Holloway and Boothroyd seem the early runners. I for one hope Ward is not picked.
