Last page on long threads

Maybe I am doing something wrong - say for example "what are you listening to thread"... if I click on say page 38 which appears to be the last page, I am not on the last page. I have to keep clicking next to get there....

The carling academy thread has now stretched to over 20 pages of crap. It seems that the "next" link at the bottom of the pages doesn't work, you have to click on the individual page number, which is tricky because there's no way of telling which page you're actually on!
