Featuring:

* Kandifunk Allstars: Live musicians playing with top DJs, including Danny Kissane on percussion and Bully from Beatbullyz on vocals.

* Hip Hop set from DJ AJ (Verbal Destruction etc)

Plus more guests TBA.


This is the afterparty for the Shuffle Weekend! Fantastic DJs, and if you have a friday or weekend ticket, entry is free! Very excited to be representing more of the dance/urban side of things this year, great to have Kandifunk on board.

its amazing isnt it. I'm sure that getting the Apartment involved was in some way in response to all those people who accused the Shuffle of not being across the board in its musial view point. So what happens, they get asked in to host some more dance/urban acts and they can't even be bothered to stay open for the after show, to play host to those that came and supported as well as those people heading in after the 12 bar. If thats the level of support you get from the more mainstream elements...well sod em, stick to what you know works.

The next time some other genre winges about the "four guys with guitar" bias of the Shuffle , you can tell them exactly why it is that way.

I must point out though that it was the manager at The Apartment, and not KandiFunk who decided to close before the party could get started.

It does wind me up that all the other venues pulled together again this year (Beehive, The Furnace, Rolleston, 12 Bar, Vic, Riffs, Elm Tree) and yet the Apartments (NOT Kandifunk who were as stitched up as we were). Doesn't reflect well on the Apartments really does it at the end of the day.
