Django Django
A classic debut album

It's been a long time since something's made my neck hairs prickle like this. Think Ennio Morricone meets 60's Floyd meets 70's moog pop meets the B52s meets the Stone Roses meets Underworld meets ... I dunno. Can't stress enough how entirely brilliant and refreshing this album is. Long live original music

*EDIT* insert Georgio Moroder meets Hot Chip instead of Underworld.

I've heard a few tracks from it and all were great, really looking forward to hearing all of it

It's a gripping listen from start to finish. Headphone jobbie.

Sorry but they sound like a bad Franz Ferdinand covers band.

Needs some bass... Song sounded empty... I really like it though, quite fun, upbeat - get the indie girls shaking their hips. Now we need some indie girls in Swindon.

I can see all your references, bar underworld! I prefer Everything Everything though...

I have now heard it, it's excellent, they remind me so much of The Beta Band but that's no bad thing

Loved their first album, the collect of EP's... Remember "She's The One For Me"

Yeah, that's been mentioned elsewhere and I think there's a family connection. Never really listened to them - must investigate further. Recommendations? Worth getting the physical CD if you haven't already. Gatefold sleeve, free poster, cryptic artwork et al. As regards lack of bass, yes it does have a slightly tinny / 60's tone to it. You get used to it after a couple of tracks. Franz Ferdinand? Blimey.

Fantastic album, that.

With regard to Django Django, the fact that my dad has asked me if I've heard of them suggests they're destined for some degree of mainstream success.

Haha, in a sad attempt to be cool with my own kids, I made them to listen to Everything Everything a couple of years back. They liked them and I was cool for about, 30secs. Now I'm doing the same with Django Django.

Watch out kids there's some new dad rock in town.

The 3 EP's is one of the best compilation albums ever, superb stuff, I liked the 3 studio albums as well (The Beta Band, Hot Shots II, Heroes To Zeros) and the singles.
