Are there any metal musicians in Swindon?? especially singers???!!!! Although I used to live in smaller town, Swindon is the only town where metal music does not exist. As far as I know tribute bands are common also indie and pop style but what about metal. Can anyone explain me this issue??
Mike - hello by the way, and welcome to the board / Swindon!
There is LOADS of metal in Swindon! How long have you been here?
On Feb 4th Reading's MALEFICE are headlining The Furnace, a venue typically known for it's Metal heritage. Why only 18 months ago did Gallows play there, and if you root through it's history it's choc full of awesome bands!
As for local bands, there is loads! In The Absence Of Light, Burials, I Defy and The Dead Lay Waiting (who have played Download for the past 2 years running!) to name but a few, and on the more hardcore side you got, the Europe trotting "The Cold Harbour" and At The Helm among others, and going a little more leftfield bands like Let The Games Begin add in a whole bucket load of Electronica to the mix.
I'm
not into Metal, you need to speak to
TOM HIMSELF on this board, who presents a dedicated METAL radio show via The Nightshift Session on Brunel FM (can some one confirm, as I haven't actually tuned in...) - He will tell you all about the local bands and scene -
is it there, and you don't have to look hard!
If you're specifically looking for band members, have you tried
joinmyband.co.uk, and stuck up an ad? Or even used this here forum in the
Classified's section?
Come to the
show on Feb 4th, check the local crowd and get the vibe, if there is a scene you would imagine a lot of it would be at that show!
Good luck in your quest to find a singer
