Well you have come to the right place!

Looking to form a band. Jam/Reggae/Rock (Fugazi) styley. Lots of pent up aggression, dynamics, cheap CD's, cheap shows, hiring out venues for nights, benefit shows. A bit of a DIY attitude, hand painting banners, creating a label, bringing in bands from outside of Swindon to play support. I want to be in a band that would organise nights where everyone came to see everyone and not just go home as soon as the local talent finish.

I am a guitarist, bassist and vocalist. Some ideas are somewhat fleshed out with concerns to song ideas. I have decent equipment and a drive to get something started. Looking for a guitarist, bassist and drummer, preferably with some vocal talent. Funds are available to start practicing and recording asap.

Anyway, get in contact with me, any age, all walks of life appreciated. I am not some wild eyed hipster, nor am I out to change the world. Music related things just seemed better when Fugazi was around to do it!

I am based in Rodbourne, have toured and recorded numerous times in and around Europe, serious enquiries only please, I am not the kind to hang about on no shows.

If you do not know who Fugazi are, here is some education!

Pfft, I must have typed out your email address wrong.

At the moment some of the artists I am listening to are Real Estate, Dead Rider, True Widows, Planes Mistaken For Stars, JR Ewing, Wild Beasts, Refused, Black Breath, Trap Them, Beecher, The Books, Son Lux, Skeletonwitch, Trent Reznor/Atticus Ross, Holy Fuck, Death From Above 1979 and Shining.... I listen to a lot of pop, ambient and electronica as well but it's all about the bands at the moment for some reason.. Son Lux, The Books, and the Dragon Tattoo OST are the only real exceptions... Hm.

Some of my favourite artists ever are Cave In, Refused, Deftones, JR Ewing, Three Trapped Tigers/Evil Ex, Burial, Deaf Center, Ben Folds, Everything Everything, Weezer, Glassjaw, The Mars Volta/ATDI.. Again, not super reflective of the sort of band I am actually interested in doing but I do love all of them and it probably comes out in my playing a bit without me even thinking about it.

Basically I want to do something raw and stripped down that will be intense live. I want to say 'punk band', but only in the sexy, fevered, tightly wound and dynamic sort of way Fugazi were a punk band.

I want to get a rehearsal room sorted and crack on ASAP so let me know if you're interested man. You would be probably be better off emailing me at josephcritchley@hotmail.co.uk

Cheers,

J

If you still haven't got a response from this guy (I haven't) but are still up for getting something like this going, I'd be interested in lending my guitar-skills. It sounds like you have pretty tasty taste in music and I'm into a lot of similar things so if you're up for it, I am too.

If he has got back to you, sorry OP, didn't mean to hijack your thread...
