On behalf of Green Man Music Promotions I just want to say that this first year as a promotional outfit has more than matched our expectations. So to all the people that journeyed into the unknown with us thank you. You are the most creative, intelligent, artistic, brave, ingenious, brilliant, loyal, mad, fun, generous and utterly demented people we have ever met...you know who you are and we salute you. Same again next year?

I think it's Mr Franklin who people should be thanking, he's worked tirelessly during 2011 for the local music scene through his writings both through Green Man and the Adver, through his promoting at the 12 Bar and now the Vic, through playing bass in Black Sheep Apprentice not to mention the gigs he regularly attends as a punter.

I've moved back to Oxford now but before I did I was keen that the Songs of Praise nights (which have run for over 5 years now and seen 150 acts through the doors) were left in "safe hands" so was delighted when Dave and Green Man Music took over the reigns, likewise as the founder of the Swindon Shuffle I'm delighted Dave will be taking on more of a lead on this.

There's several individuals involved with the Swindon music scene who do a lot of hard work often behind the scenes who don't always get the credit they deserve (take a bow Stu Rowe, Sam Bates, Mr Dust, Dave Young, Andy Marcer, Andy Pett) add to that list Mr Franklin.

You had a great 2011, you will have an even better 2012
