Well it seems you have recommended an extremely rare pedal that I can't even find a picture of ! Chances of getting one are therefore slim

Reply to Post 9419 by adam in Guitar Pedals I'm quite enjoying my Octave pedal at the moment, I'm getting some pretty interesting sounds out of it. Has anybody else got one?

eeerrmm - I think they were talking octave pedals, if it were distortions/overdrives then Haze's reply would have been "I've got 28" : )

pedals - that reminds me, I need a compressor!

For Bass? I think the Aphex Punch factory is supposed to be best for a reasonable price. I've used a Boss Limiter/Enhancer and a Tech 21 compressor in the past and got rid of both. I did play through Neils MXR comp the other day and that seemed decent though. I ditched all my pedals (aside from a tuner) including my Sansamp in a quest for simplicity, I go straight to amp now. : )

This is why I need a compressor - I have a B2 that I mess around with occasionally at home but the only pedal that has had regular use is the Ibanez PD-7 (set near to the factory 'blues overdrive' setting) but since putting on the TI flats and sticking Fender Original/Vintage pups into my bass I'm finding I have no need for the PD-7 as when I give the strings 'what for' I get a lovely growl now - problem is the higher signal, it's not too bad but would like things evened out a little

Anyone use EQ pedals or is it just me?
Wed 2 Apr 2008 11:40
Fair enough, although I’ve never really found a compressor that does what I want it to with much success. My tech 21 comp went haywire and nearly destroyed one of my speakers so I gave up after that! I try to set up my string outputs as close as possible, although I find it a lot easier with p style pups than jazz ones. As far as effects go I just tend to use the valve pre in my amp if I need some dirt in the sound. Each to their own, I would like to try one of those Aphex comps though.

I've got a couple of rack mount jobbies - I might give one of those a go

EQ pedals obviously aren't cool because they don't do crazy s**t like phasers, octavers and delays...

I think my EQ pedal is the fine different between me sounding completely shit, and mostly s**t : )

haha, for distortion (well predominately fuzz) i have a boss ds-1, boss odb-3, frantone sweet, zvex fuzz probe, effector 13 torn's peaker, ehx usa big muff, mxr blue box (which is also one of the 3 octave pedals).
there's other things i use aswell, but aren't specifically designed for fuzz, so won't go into them.

i used to, then got a decent amp and only found it to make everything sound worse rather than better.
