I used to be a big Wilco fan and practically wore out my copies of "AM" "Being There" "Summerteeth" and "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" as well as the 2 "Mermaid Avenue" albums they made with Billy Bragg.
I lost my way with them a bit after that until earlier this year when Mr Bates pointed me in the direction of their rather fine "Kicking Television" live album, I was hooked once again. Good old Amazon furnished me with copies of "A Ghost Is Born" "Sky Blue Sky" and "Wilco (The Album)" and I was back up to speed.
New album was released last week, my copy sat unplayed for a week as I was over in Spain, arrived back, finally had several listens to it, WOW
Opening track "Art of Almost" is the best thing I've heard this year, amazing tune, the quality doesn't dip either as "I Might" "Dawned On Me" "Black Moon" and "Whole Love" in particular are all cracking numbers, a serious contender for album of the year for me.
And I'm off to see them at the end of the month as well
