It's not great, but assuming they have at least two original members, it's a slight improvement over much of what's been announced so far this year.

The big problem is that even the 'better' stuff is still going to be very lucky to shift 300 tickets... in a 1800cap venue??

Well, Gary Moore, Scott Gorham and Brian Downey are still alive, as is Brian Robertson...although only just by the looks of him these days...

...oh! Hang on, that's Thin Lizzy. Who the f**k are Toploader? Didn't they play Summer Breeze or something like that recently? I used to have a video player that you pressed a button and a carriage would pop up on the top where you would insert the cassette and push it down. It was a Fergusson Videostar, if I remember correctly. But I digress. Who the f**k are Toploader?

Rubber Dinghy Rapids, bro.

I thought Toploader had split up.

I don't know what happened to the Glenn Wool ad that was on here briefly, but that's going to be a great night; hopefully with a decent turnout.

Gary Moore carked it about this time last year didnt't he?

I think their name is a reference to someone who puts all their weed in the top end of their spliff. We always called called this a "front loader" ... Though that still sounds like it's a video recorder

If they could get Richard Hawley to play when he tours his new album later this year, I'd love them forever.

TBH, most of the bands I like wouldn't be able to fill the MECA (not because I'm so ahead of the game, more likely quite the opposite), but a leg on next years Rivival tour, would be the stuff of dreams, but would be too much to hope for.

Am REALLY looking forward to Glenn Wool next week though. I think I'll also try and get tickets for Michael Winslow, as I think that'd be a great show (I guess his modern day equivalent would be Beardyman and he'd be great to see at MECA too).

I don't have any objection to them booking Toploader, The Hoosiers or any of the Mickey Mouse tribute bands masquerading as the real deal. If I don't like the look of what's on, I won't go and if I do, I will. I lose nothing by the place putting on stuff I'm not into. I just wouldn't want to see it go under due to lack of interest when I think the management are doing their best.
