Thursday 23rd February 2012 at The Rolleston

Description

Thursday 23 February 2012 sees Jim Lockey & the Solemn Sun get our Thursday nights of original music in full swing.

Jim Lockey & the Solemn Sun are a country folk punk band from Cheltenham town made up for four lost souls with a passion for politically poetic storytelling. Veterians of the 2000 Trees and Wychwood Festivals, has seen JL&TSS triumph and prepared the stage for Jim to sweep the nation.

Voted one of NME's "Ones to watch" in 2012 and seen on the road supporting Frank Turner, amongst others, crunching up the motorway miles. Jim has recently been picked by Xtra Mile, already home to some of the UK's finest acts including Reuben, Ben Marwood and Future Of The Left.

sorry but you will have to move this to another night as I have my own show to put on that night and I love Jim Lockey. Let me know the new date ; )

Ah, I'm going to be split between 2 gigs then! Agh!

I've actually spent more time in Swindon over the past month, either promoting shows, engineering, being at gigs or what ever, than I ever have in my past 28 years of existence.

must be a good sign when even Moonrakers like you are becoming regular fixtures round here!

hehe... I'm not sure anyone else would see it that way!

So Jim was blinding!

Just before the show he announced he's been invited to perform at SXSW and that he has a 3 week tour in May across the UK AND he is doing loads of Festivals in 2012, of which he has only announced two of these - one in Leeds and 2000 Trees.

Exciting times for the wee lad(s)

His set was 50/50 old and new material, with the new stuff slotting in perfectly again the old stuff, so pretty much taking up where he left off. Fantastic.
