Members
Samuel Schwenk, 15-Vocals
Sam has been singing from a very young age, and even without the aid of any formal singing lessons, has appeared in professionally produced musicals and stage shows all around Swindon. His latest appearance in ‘Oliver’ playing the part of Mr. Bumble was highly acclaimed by audience members and fellow actors alike. Sam’s unique sound sets the band apart from the average by providing an infectious enthusiasm to the performance.
Stephen Holt, 15-Guitar 1/Backing vocals
Stephen’s history in music is prominent in his playing. Beginning music lessons at the age of four, Stephen has developed his skills on a wide range of instruments, including piano and drums. Stephen has composed music for many years, and developing from his jazz and blues-based background, he has managed to produce a unique sound for both guitars in the band, designing catchy melodies that make him an asset to the band. Stephen is also responsible for much of the music arrangement and composition.
Gareth Askins, 16- Guitar 2
Gareth has been playing guitar for over 9 years and has become respected as a very accurate player. Gareth honed in on his ability to learn and play very complex pieces in a short space of time, making him an essential asset to such a fast developing band. Gareth’s love for all indie music gives him a wide choice of sounds to bring to the band. His vast musical knowledge and skill gives him the ability to create new musical ideas with ease. His skill and ability combined with his relaxed persona makes him a strong backbone for the musical creation in the band.
Matthew Capstick, 15- Bass guitar
Being the latest addition to the band, Matthew has done well to keep up with the hyperactive tendencies of the other band members. His previous guitar skill from over 5 years of playing meant he was well able to contribute a strong individual sound on the bass guitar, whilst remaining an essential sound within the songs. Matthew is able to learn songs at a shocking speed with high precision, whilst adding in his own individual flair. His strong confident attitude on stage is carried through to his playing and his effect on the band.
Joshua Rankin, 16- Drums/Backing Vocals
Josh is relatively new to his instrument in comparison to other members of the band. However owing to a long life in music, playing electric guitar and bass guitar, josh was able to pick up drum sticks and play complex beats before even having a lesson. Josh found his calling in the drums, and in just over a year has earned vast respect and is considered one of the finest young drummers in the area. His natural musical ability combined with his high energy life-style is shown in his fast rhythms and complex beats, and Josh’s highly individual, yet recognizable sound.
