Band Bio
Talk In Code are an Indie rock band from Swindon in South-West England. They have a bright, positive sound that shows light and shade with tonnes of atmosphere!
Combining influences such as Doves, Morning Runner, Ride and U2, the melodies boast anthemic, charismatic attitude! These are underpinned by fizzy, solid rhythms to stunning effect. Keyboards and soaring guitars lend quality layering, character and ambience whilst subtleties keep the listener engaged!
Since the band formed in May 2007, they have quickly established themselves as a popular live act. They've played a whole host of shows across the south of England, supporting mainstream bands including Captain and Idlewild. Their EP Launch Night at Swindon's 12Bar attracted over 200 people! prior to this successful event, the band were seen selling-out shows in Newbury, Camden's Barfly and the Clapham Grand in London. Not to mention building up a fanbase as far afield as Southend-on-sea!
In the summer of 2008, Talk In Code were asked to headline the Swindon Shuffle festival, which showcased over 40 local bands, in 6 music venues across Swindon, which has a rapidly growing music scene. "The Shuffle" saw more than 1,000 people through the doors over the weekend. The band followed this up a month later by headlining the Swindon Shuffle stage at the Sugarhill Festival (Other headline acts included The Young Knives).
