Band Bio

Finally, the puzzle is complete!...
After a few line up changes, Manicwrath have finally found a stable line up who will soon begin to forward ideas and arrange our first practice!

Manicwrath began to form in the summer of 2006; myself (Lee / vocals) and my friend and neighbour Adam (guitar) were discussing music and gigs, and our similar tastes etc. (Adam was previously in a band called Poison heart, having a few creative differences decided to leave the project!), I myself having never played live before and always being a metal head, playing live was a huge goal of mine! So with some inspiration, motivation and advice from a good mate of mine (Elston of Prometheus: http://www.myspace.com/mindpolitics) he told me to just go ahead and do it! So in turn, Adam and I decided to begin a project! Chucking a few names about, Manicwrath soon felt right and stuck.

We soon recruited a bassist from Swindon, but soon communication broke down and nothing began to circulate. With lack of interest and lack of communication, growing frustrated, we began to advertise online for musicians of similar mind to recruit in this new bastard of a band.

Not long having put out an advert, we received a reply from an enthusiastic drummer called Colsey! However, alas, age restrictions and residential location and transportation issues deemed it too awkward to make it worthwhile! putting pressure on an already shaky foundation, a friendly parting of ways seemed the best option. (Check out Colsey's band Instant Reaction: http://www.myspace.com/instantreact).

Now September came round and having restarted at university in Bristol, I quickly befriended Kenjo, A guitarist who also had an urge to play live and was interested in guitar. Again, due to creative difference, Kenjo felt it would be more beneficial to us to find another guitarist who was more into our style of music. (Check his band: http://www.myspace.com/theifonthemonorail)

Soon after we were contacted by Nick (Formerly of Flesh Hammer, current Amenti drummer: http://www.myspace.com/amentiuk) with details regarding a bassist and guitarist in search of a new project! With this I was introduced to Lee (bass) and Miles (guitar), (Formerly of Flesh Hammer: http://www.myspace.com/fleshhammermusic) after getting to know one another and a few conversations regarding sound and direction, they showed interest and soon signed up!

Another piece of the Manicwrath puzzle was found in Dave from Rise from the Nightmare (http://www.myspace.com/risefromthenightmare) Dave's number was passed on to Lee, which in turn was passed on to me. After a few conversations on the phone, like the rest of us showed interest in this new project and again signed up.

Recently an agreement with Adam was met due to creative differences and other projects he is now committed to! No falling out, no bad blood, just a friendly parting of ways and a new musical project! He has now joined Autumn's Savoir (http://www.myspace.com/autumnssaviour)

So now again another line up change. with one guitarist down, we advertised on the Swindon music forum, looking for another guitarist. Matt (Formerly of Holding Cell, Currently of Chokeslam. http://www.myspace.com/chokeslam666) quickly contacted us.

Myself, Miles, Lee and Matt together met up and now finalised the Manicwrath line up!
