Band Bio
"Man Down!" i guess officially started when we started writing our own s**t in May/June of '05. Jordan started to session with Mark around the end of '03/early'04. at that time we had two drummers for short periods: Oli Carrol and Mark Stallard, but something was missing.
Mark and Jordan jammed together untill our present pro drummer - Harry joined. We'd quite frankly be fucked without him. Minty was recruited to play some guitar, and we learned a few favourite covers. After that, Civil Unrest became "The Defence" and we started to write some songs! Among the first were "a tin of spam" and "the defence".
Around April of 05' Harry's garage replaced the Pewsham hall as the place where we practiced most of the time, meaning we could practice more often... And all was good. We knew however, that it was gonna go tits up straight away after we drunkenly booked a non-eventfull gig at Area 51 in Swindon. We Played 3 times at the fizz bar in Chippenham as The Defence, but with only a moderate reception.
In october of 05 The Defence was now "Turndown", but things were not as we had hoped. Mark and Harry joined Benji and Marty of "The Commies", of whom marty was shortly replaced my jordan on bass. The commies enjoyed A winter of successful to mediocre gigs, and a 3-day stint at a recording studio, they also got themselves signed to cultjam records.
Minty played one gig with The Commies, this time on trumpet, and things were looking up for the five of us for about an hour... As the summer of 06 approaches, The Commies look set to call it a day, but four of it's memebers revisited thier roots... forming Man Down!, but incorporating thier love of fast brass!
